Working together.

The fourth generation is getting up to speed on taking care of our farm. There are four siblings, and four in the next generation. The current generation is Nancy Williams Demmers, Linda Williams Woodworth (and husband "Woody" Woodworth), Charles Robins Williams (and wife Lynne Dale), and Margaret Williams McDonald (and husband "Sandy" McDonald). We work together on projects like rebuilding the 100 year old scuppernong arbor, and how to allocate the resources needed to keep the place going. Fifth generation Andy, Mike, Ben and Erik are very helpful, and we're pretty sure Sixth Gen Charlie, Abby and Camron will take their places after they get out of kindergarden.
Linda and Woody are living on the farm these days managing the day to day operations.

A peach tree in memory of our dads

Our beloved fathers Charles Williams and Hank Woodworth died within six months of each other. Both had birthdays in September, so we searched out a suitable peach tree (a freestone Elberta) and planted it in their memory. We dug the hole and plied it with compost and refilled it, and Linda and Woody read the following blessing together to welcome the tree to its new home:
A Blessing for The Father’s Tree
We name you ‘The Father’s Tree’
And ask God to grant this blessing, that you may thrive in this place:
As our fathers nurtured us and helped us to grow,
Bear many fruits to nurture the generations to come.
As our fathers shaded our lives, protecting us from harmful elements,
Bring shade and comfort to the generations to come.
As our fathers extolled the beauty of nature,
Grow beautifully, to gladden the generations to come.
As our fathers loved the garden,
Be happy in this place.
Amen
