Five Generations.  One Farm.

Picture
Homeplace to four generations of Williams, siblings Nancy, Linda, Charles and Margaret welcome you to our farm. While renovating the late 1800's farmhouse, we are starting an organic kitchen garden, rebuilding the 100 year old scuppernong arbor, and have added an outdoor bread oven for a touch of Bubba Tuscany!  Turns out, this is a nice place for a family wedding or baptism, too.

Our dad, Charles Williams, was a man who loved this farm, and looked to the future with faith.  Our mom, Emily Holmes Williams, believed people are important, not things.  She added the music and grace.  The next generation is working to preserve these values and this farm - the land, the timber, the wildlife, the homeplace.

Williams Family Farm LLLP

It's official!  We're now a partnership of siblings committed to
preserving and moving forward for the next generation.

A peach tree in memory of our dads

Picture
Our beloved fathers Charles Williams and Hank Woodworth died within six months of each other.  Both had birthdays in September, so we searched out a suitable peach tree (a freestone Elberta) and planted it in their memory.   We dug the hole and plied it with compost and refilled it, and Linda and Woody read the following blessing together to welcome the tree to its new home:

A Blessing for The Father’s Tree

We name you ‘The Father’s Tree’
And ask God to grant this blessing, that you may thrive in this place:

As our fathers nurtured us and helped us to grow,
Bear many fruits to nurture the generations to come.

As our fathers shaded our lives, protecting us from harmful elements,
Bring shade and comfort to the generations to come

As our fathers extolled the beauty of nature,
Grow beautifully, to gladden the generations to come

As our fathers loved the garden,
Be happy in this place

Amen
